Redirect Path - Version 4 upgrade

Your version of Redirect Path has just had a major update! Version 4 includes AI integration, so that you can choose to debug a redirect chain or HTTP error using Ayima AI (free). What’s new in Redirect Path 4.0.0

A smoother, more dependable experience

Redirect Path keeps up with you. We fixed a behind-the-scenes issue where the extension cleaned up old tab data. In rare cases that cleanup could misbehave; it now runs reliably, so tracking your redirect path stays stable even when you open and close lots of tabs.

Fewer mysterious errors in the background. If Chrome ever sends the extension a message without normal tab information (it can happen on unusual pages or timing edge cases), we now ignore it safely instead of throwing an error.

A lighter, snappier popup

The popup does the same job with less baggage. We rebuilt the popup using the same built-in tools your browser already provides, instead of an old helper library from years ago. For you, that means:

  • Less code to load when you click the icon - every little bit helps the popup feel quick.
  • Fewer moving parts so we can maintain and improve the extension more confidently.
  • The same features you rely on: your redirect chain, headers, copy-to-clipboard, and Ask Ayima AI all work the way you expect.

What you’ll see after an update

Optional release notes in a new tab. When Redirect Path updates to a new version, we may open Ayima’s “what’s new” page once for that version so you can read about changes at your own pace. It won’t repeat every time you open the browser - only when the version number has moved on.

Popup layout that stays put

Expanding HTTP status blocks no longer nudges the whole sideways. We keep a stable vertical scrollbar area so opening headers doesn’t suddenly steal width and make the popup feel like it “jumps.”

The header banner lines up with the edges. The scrollbar now lives inside the main popup column, so the white logo bar reaches the same visual edge as the rest of the UI - no odd empty strip beside it.

Height is set after your path is drawn, which avoids odd resizing glitches in some setups.

Steadier behaviour on busy sites (like Gmail)

Heavy web apps fire a lot of clicks. The script that watches for clicks and meta refreshes now talks to the extension in a safer way - so if Chrome reloads the extension or the tab has been open for ages, you’re much less likely to see errors when you click around. Nothing changes about how Redirect Path tracks your path on normal pages.

Housekeeping (for the curious)

  • Removed unused code that belonged to an old banner experiment - nothing you were using, just tidier internals.
  • Removed jQuery, custom fonts, and all external asset dependencies - CSS, JavaScript, and images now ship entirely inside the extension.
  • Developer packaging metadata matches the extension version (4.0.0) so releases stay consistent.
  • Still no ads, pixels or tracking - your privacy is our priority.

Thank you for using Redirect Path. If something ever feels off after an update, refresh the page you’re inspecting or reopen the popup - most issues are simply Chrome catching up with the latest version.

SEO Path

SEO Path is Ayima’s on-page SEO side panel for Chrome on the tab you’re viewing: a 0-100 health score, titles and meta, headings, indexability, and a search-style snippet preview. Add Core Web Vitals (optional PageSpeed Insights), mobile, accessibility, and Open Graph / Twitter Cards. All analysis stays in your browser - cached for speed, with nothing sent to third parties or Ayima.
